What happened at the birth of the universe?

What happened at the moment of the universe’s birth? Was it a big bang like the science world would say or was it some sort of God or deity that created the universe and all it holds in it? I recently spent some time in a church and this is what I gathered about the Christian belief (mind you this is coming from an “open-minded” Christian church). So the pastor walks on the stage and he says that today we are going to be schooled in a bit of genesis. With his enthusiasm I sit up in my chair, I want to hear what he has to say. To what I understand popular Christian belief is that God created the universe and all that’s in it in seven days (well six because one day he was just kicking it on what I like to think of as a godly porch) but overall he created the universe in seven days, the bible states that in genesis chapter one “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth” now in this sentence alone tells us a lot about the heavy duty work God was doing here he created the entire universe (most of which we haven’t even seen yet according to scientists only because of the simply answer the light that originated from the big bang hasn’t gotten to what we haven’t seen yet if that makes sense?). But as genesis continues it goes on as “And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Then God said, Let there be light: and there was light. “ God created the earth… makes sense but he just said let there be light and like a clap on light there was all the sudden the millions upon millions of like billions of stars we see today in our Milky way galaxy alone? (In my opinion God deserves the capital G because that’s what he is a G). That previous statement tells me that not only did God create our galaxy but he also created the lifeblood of our world, the sun. Genesis continues to state “And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.” So basically we carry on about this whole process the next five days God creates animals and trees and plants and eventually man and his spinoff mate that we call woman (no offense ladies). Then he takes Sunday off and the rest is straight history. Well as the pastor preaches to us he begins to get into the other beliefs. He mainly focuses on the Big bang theory that is the most commonly used and accepted belief of how our universe came to be. While making fun of the theory he says “One night helium and hydrogen saw each other and OH, they just clicked and BANG! Our universe came to be that’s nonsense.” He continues to attack the big bang theory saying that essentially everything we know is made out “gases” he uses the example of his children putting a Lego model of a starship from the movie star wars. He says he knows they made because it is highly unlikely that they just opened the bag containing the legos and dumped them on the floor and they arranged themselves in the assort fashion as to make this starship model. He says that there is no possible way that could have happened (contrary to his statement given enough time eventually the legos could very well land in the correct place although those odds are truly astronomical, given an infinite amount of time it is very much possible.) He goes on to say that upon walking in the room he can tell that his kids must have made this legos model and he says “I don’t walk into the room as say, wow! You guys must have had some great gas! No I walk into the room and say. Wow! You guys put that together!” as the pastor delves deeper into his story he says that “where there is a created there must be a creator, where there is a painting there must be a painter, where there is a designer there must be a designer.” The bible says that God created the heavens and the skies and that they declare Gods glory. He goes on to say that “you can’t look up into the skies and see a beautiful sight or sunset or sunrise or whatever and not say wow to yourself.” I do agree with him on that point the sunrise and sunset here in Florida is absolutely beautiful. He continues to pick on several other beliefs such as scientology and their belief that we are seedlings from some sort of alien that came from their planet and planted life on this planet we call earth. He says that, that is utterly impossible unless you are from Groveland (which I have come to find out Groveland is the equivalent of a hick, redneck town where people are considered a little dumber than everyone else) He literally throws that idea out of the window and hops back to the big bang whilst making fun of Groveland saying its “redneck” inhabitants may have come up with the big bang “Hey Billy? You ever look up at the stars and wonder how they got there? Billy replies “nah” Come on now Billy doesn’t it look like a bunch of buck shot up there like someone busted off a few rounds from a 8-gauge? Billy says” yea bob it sure does look like it” Bob continues “ ya know shotguns make a big bang! Maybe that’s how the universe was made wit a big ol’ bang!” The pastor wraps his redneck story with saying that this theory is also irrational and illogical. He goes on to attack what I would say as a hippie sort of view where they believe that the universe was always here and that nothing has been added because whatever is here is what always and will forever be here. He says that the idea of an infinite universe is ridiculous in and of itself because the universe can’t be that old nor is it possible (apparently because he believes God created the universe) that the universe could have been here forever. He debunks this with his “if there is a created there must be a creator” theory saying that if the universe was here since forever then how was it made? If nothing has been subtracted or added who made it? How is it that the universe could have been here this whole time if no one or God didn’t make it? With that being said he cracks a couple jokes on the infinite universe theory and goes to his main message. He says “it only makes sense that God created the universe, because what I’m supposed to believe that two gases got together and that’s the basis for everything we see today? That doesn’t make sense. Nor does the universe being here the whole time, or we are offspring of some alien culture. The only thing that makes sense is that God made the universe” This is where me and the pastor have a problem he claims open-mindness and that we as Christians mustn’t judge but yet we have free will and subconscious ability to judge someone off their appearance or their actions at the time without getting to know the person. He preaches that we should be open to all possibilities such as Jesus was open to anyone who believed that God was God and that that Jesus was in fact God in human form and whomever believed that with their heart and mind he would help. Yet with all this opened-mindness and this WWJD (What Would Jesus DO) sort of attitude I find that his open-mindess claim goes out of the window. He eliminates the other theories by use of a clearly biased opinion that the bible in and of itself is not fiction and is more like a documentary of actual events. I am not saying the bible is fake nor am I stating it is real all I am saying is that Steven Spielberg created an entire universe with his imagination and captivated most of the globe with his “star wars” movies depicting an entirely fiction story-tale. J.K Rowling invented an entire separate world of wizards living amongst the average Joe. Who’s to say that the bible isn’t an older version of star wars? A purely fabricated novel invented by people who wanted to inspire hope and provide a feeling of comfort within people , because old school middle east wasn’t the most stable, peaceful environment. But that is another paper in and of itself my quarrel is simple if this creator theory provides Christians with proof that God created the universe and that he is the supreme being then my question to those who believe this is, who or what created God? If God created the universe then something must have created him, no? If you can provide an answer or even your opinion I would be more than happy to engage in a purposeful discussion. Thanks for taking the time and reading this and responding (if you actually do). <('-'<)
I feel like I do need to warn you I am not a scholar nor am I politically correct throughout this you want to call it.
